OHM developed concepts for Quantum Wind’s 5kw HAWT Turbine 3, a low speed direct drive permanent magnet generator designed in North America.
Nacelle concepts were prepared for their 50kw HAWT. The turbine is direct coupled to a direct drive PMG generator, producing 50kw in 10 m/s (22 mph) wind, enough power for 15 to 20, three bedroom homes with additional power sold back to the grid. This turbine, in most cases, is the largest turbine allowed to net-meter in North America.
